I consider myself to have the best job in the world. My love for critters runs very deep. I love to first meet a critter and then get to know their personality. As I go on my dog walks, I get to experience all different types of behaviors. Sometimes I have noticed that the same breed has of course the same behaviors, but I have also noticed that completely different breeds act the same way. I often wonder if it’s really the parents or just the breed that makes up the behavior. I don’t know if that question can be answered.
Do everyone’s critters like to help? Ours sure do! My husband has been doing some home renovation lately and more than once he has come close to tripping over our lab, Booker. He seems to be more involved than the other critters. Could be the Lab nature, I guess. I know that Simon in Sorrento is a Lab and when I go out to Sorrento he is absolutely my helper. He keeps all the other critters nice and well-behaved and he barks to let me know if something is not right. I truly believe it’s his nature to be a helper.
Even though you bump into them, step over them and sometimes fall over them, it really is hard to get angry with them. Their only goal is to be with you, be included, and I would bet that if they could, they would help. It is very cute to watch Booker follow John about the house as he does his work.
I don’t get a pass here either. Many times, while in the kitchen cooking, I go to the refrigerator, bend over to look in and there right next to my face is…..Booker, looking in the fridge with me. Like my husband says….if Booker had thumb, he could be very helpful!
