Just Another Monday

Sometimes I have no idea what I’m going to blog about. It seems I go blank at times. Today was one of those days. When I woke up this morning, I thought I would have something to write about but there was nothing on my brain. That all changed when I went on my dog walks. Here are two small stories about my dog walks today.

First, I went to Altamonte Springs to see Oliver.  We have our same routine dog walk every visit. He loves it because he feels he’s in charge. Today there was something very different about our dog walk. Olive has a good eye. He spotted a turtle relaxing in a neighbor’s front yard. At first, he was very cautious in his approach, after all this was the first turtle he has every seen. He coward down and took his steps very slowly as he got closer and closer to Mr. Turtle. Then he smelled the turtles face and of course the turtle snatched his head deep into his shell. I don’t who was more  startled Oliver or Mr. Turtle. So Oliver was not willing to give up his new friend just yet. He went to the backside and was able to really smell Mr. Turtle. After being satisfied that Mr. Turtle was no threat, Oliver decided to do a little showing off and run around in circles. My only regret is I didn’t have my video camera on me. Of all days to say to myself that I didn’t need it. Oh and being from Louisiana, I know exactly what at snapping turtle looks like and we both would have been outta there.

Next I was off to Longwood to see Cocoa, Foxy and Rane. I did a story about Rane a few blogs ago. She is a new edition and is very afraid. She is a rescue and there’s not much on her history. She is just the type of Chihuahua that is very afraid of you until she spends a lot of time with you. Today was a victory of sorts. Rane let me give her a treat without running away and I touched her for the first time. She growled a little but stop and accepted my hand to give it a good smell over. It took me almost 7 months to get Ronnie to come up to me at Dayna’s in Sorrento. So I have high hopes for Rane. I plan on getting a follow-up video on the day Rane lets me hold her. That will be a huge accomplishment.
