Pet Food Recall

Most of you already know about the Diamond Pet Foods recall but I keep getting notices about it, so I thought I would share this information again.

The Diamond Naturals Lamb Meal & Rice dry dog food may be contaminated with salmonella. There have been no illnesses reported  and no other Diamond foods have been affected. People who handled the dog food could become infected with salmonella. People who feel they may have been exposed should monitor themselves for nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Pets with salmonella may have decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain.

These are the 12 states that Diamond Foods with possible salmonella were distributed in: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia.

On some of my pet visits I feed your doggies, so I know that some of you have nothing to worry about. I am concerned with some of my other critter out there because I don’t feed them on a regular basis. I also know that some of my critters are very picky eaters and are testing out different foods to see what they like. Hopefully this is not one of them. I know that Oliver in Altamonte Springs is a real picky eater but I’m pretty sure when I went over the other day for our dog walk I saw Blue food. Please spread the word out there. Better to be safe than sorry.
